Blueberry cheese cake

Chilled blueberry cheesecake I loved!

Ingredients:

Crust:

A: 150 g Marie biscuit, crushed

2 tbsp icing sugar

130 g salted butter, melted

Cheesecake filling:

B: 250 g Philadelphia cream cheese, softened

120 g castor sugar (reduce to 100 g if you don't want it to be too sweet)

150 mL full cream milk

2 tbsp lemon juice

1 small can of NESTLÉ plain yogurt

C: 2.5 tbsp gelatine powder mixed in 5 tbsp water and double boiled until dissolved

D: 200 g dairy whipping cream

E: Blueberry pie filling (I prefer Le Apple one coz it is not so sweet)

Now, the method to combine all these ingredients into a nice chilled blueberry cheesecake..

For crust:

Combine all ingredients in A and press mixture evenly onto the bottom of a 9'' (22 cm) round springform pan. Chill in fridge for 1 hour.

For cheesecake filling:

B: Beat Philadelphia cream cheese at medium speed until soft.

Add sugar, mix well.

Add in full cream milk and lemon juice, mix well.

Add C into the mixture.

Use another mixing bowl, beat dairy whipping cream (D) at medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes. Add into the cheese mixture.

Pour the cheesecake mixture onto crust and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Spread adequate amount of blueberry pie filling (E) onto the cheesecake mixture.

Chill in the fridge for 3 hours.

Enjoy ~~

HoneyDew with sago

Ingredients:

1000 mL water

30 g sago (cleaned)

2 pieces pandan leaves

100 g sugar

200 mL coconut milk

300 g honey dew (cut into smaller pieces)

Method:

1. Boil water with pandan leaves

2. Add in sago and cooked until it turns transparent

3. Add sugar and cooked until it dissolves

4. Add in coconut milk and honey dew and cook until thick and cooled in fridge

5. Ready to serve.

Simple and taste great. Yum ~

Lasagna

Baked a beef lasagna today. It's yummy! I don't lie. =)

Here is the recipe (can be found at the back of San Remo instant lasagna).

But, I am typing this out so that I can remember them and I am bored. hehe..

Ingredients (Meat sauce):

250 g Instant Lasagna
2 tbsp oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, finely chopped
1 celery, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
500 g minced beef
5 tbsp tomato sauce
1 x 400 g canned tomatoes
1 cube chicken stock
dashed of salt and pepper to taste

Ingredients (Cheese sauce):

2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp plain flour
2 cups milk
125 g mozzarella cheese

Meat sauce:

Heat oil in saucepan.
Add carrot, onion, celery and garlic and cook until soft.
Add minced beef and cook until brown.
Stir in tomato sauce and canned tomato and chicken stock.
seasoned with salt and pepper
cover and cook gently for about 20 minutes

Cheese sauce:

melt butter in another clean saucepan
stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes over gentle heat
remove from heat, stir in milk and stir until thick and smooth
season with salt, pepper and add mozzarella cheese
stir until low heat until cheese melts

Lasagna:

preheat oven to 180 degree celsius
spread lasagna sheet onto the greased baking dish
spread meat sauce, cheese sauce
continue, alternate layers of lasagna, meat sauce and cheese sauce, ending with cheese sauce layer (about 4 layers per dish)
sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese
bake in oven for about 35 to 40 minutes

Serves 4

Calender and postcard

I am so happy now.

I just received a postcard and a calendar from a friend from Switzerland. Yea.. my first time receiving a calendar from an overseas friend. I can't believe he actually send me a calendar with a postcard. I think must be expensive eh.. But anyway, I am so happy!! I met this friend from the last cruise ship and I promised him I'll send him a postcard from Brunei and he really received the postcard I sent. He is a very friendly person and he told me lotsa things about his country and I've learned a lot from him and I wish..... one day I would have the chance to go there.

Last day of 2009 was indeed meaningful and I had a good night watching fireworks at the empire. Though the fireworks may look almost the same every year and every time, I still enjoy it! and of coz it also has to depend on the person that is accompanying you. =)

Tonight (January 2), firework, still can be seen in the empire at around 10 pm and heard that this time the showing time would be longer than the one on new year eve. *Can't wait*

The bomb

Woossh..

So tired after entering all the bomb data into excel. Started from 8 and realized that now is already 12+. Is not real bomb. In full is called bomb calorimeter, an instrument to measure the energy content for a certain solid edible thing which could be pressed into pellet.

Tired tired.. and tmr I am going to the lab doing this again, I think (if no one is using it).

Went tamu this morning and I saw Adam Tan, my high school computer teacher. Congratulation to him, become daddy again, soon, next year.

Craving for korean food

Went to korean restarant this thursday for korean food.

I miss eating the gimbap there, tho ah chong told me her friend can make a better one.. wish I have the chance to try it out =)

Honestly, once a while having this kind outing can cheer me up from my dull and boring uni work.. This sem timetable is not so packed with lectures, but most of the time you can find me in the research lab and I think I have spend too much time there.. I really need to make a timetable and spend some time in uni work instead. This sem I need to write a 30 pages literature review based on one of the topics listed by lecturers. The topic I chose was Schiff base. Sounds simple, looks a lot when you google it. But honestly, it is so complicated! maybe to me. sigh..

Back to the topic, I somehow miss working in vitaworld coz I miss tapao-ing food with u all in cafe de paris and miss eating roti kosong with flor almost everyday..

Pirates of the 'Car'ribean

Hunting hunting hunting.....

Early morning briefing

Woke up extremely early today for the 13th nbt treassure hunt..

This year theme is pirate and you know what? I am very kiasu this year.. haha..

To get ready with this year hunt, I actually bought a 3 in 1 dvd with 3 full series of pirates of carribean movie in it before the hunt.. and it was lost hiding somewhere not obvious to me! grr.. So I didn't get the chance to watch a single one before the hunt. Wanted to buy another one but it was already saturday and I have no more time to complete all 3 movies in one night..

And....

The questions related to the 3 movies came out in one of the challenge! @.@

The challenge was called 'Pirates of the Carribean Picture Challenge'. Pictures of the movie scenes were displayed and we need to recognise them whether it was in the 1st 2nd or the 3rd one.

Totally have no ideas on all the pictures displayed there.. oh no!

Luckily 2 of our team members watched the movies before and had slight ideas about the pictures displayed. phew ~

At the moment I am inside the lab

Arghh.. My patience level has sort of going down to the level of zero

huu.. everyday repeating doing the same thing, doing it at different environment, different method, different strategy, different concentration, different parameter and still..... the results are still very lousy.. grr

The benzene is not at all a friendly friend.. not treating me as his owner, kept on escaping into the atmosphere when I was preparing it.. grr

Ok.. I guess have complained enough..

Self-motivated and I must keep telling myself I must have patience !

Just like to say Happy papa's day to my papa here..

Haven't seen him today and in my house we do celebrate mama's day but not papa's day and that doesn't mean we don't love our papa..

For mama case, sounds easy to get a gift to make her happy..

But for papa case, is a lil bit hard (for me) to get sth which could make him really happy and really satisfy him and will not scold me for wasting my lil-earned money..

Through here, I would like to say "Papa, I love you.."

Currently inside the lab and nothing has done since morning.. after knowing the instrument that I am working with has no hydrogen gas tank attached, since I started my project one week ago.. and no hydrogen gas tank means analysis cannot be done.. =.=||

But... but.. I forget to ask the lady if no gas tank then how come I get peaks for the benzene le.. hmm...weird

Bit worried now. Worrying that I might not be able to finish the project on time =E

And currently nothing can be done unless the gas tank is back from his kampong..

Not to blame on whose faults.. I have to blame myself for not knowing the instrument good enought as well.. And I guess ppl here are busy as well as most of them have their own jobs to be done.. and has no time to take care of the "hungry" ppl

Final day of this semester exam has finally arrived and also for everyone.. Congra congra.. haha
Many many things are lining up ahead waiting for me to complete and which I am still too excited and not knowing which one to start with..

Before that, I would like to say tq tq to miss ah geok.. yes, she is in Be-runei now.. haha.. Tq for the recipe book she gave me that day.. ho ho.. thanks muchmuch.. With this new recipe book I got, I will have sth to do other than project and attachment in this long boring holiday lo.. and I wish I really have some time to try out some of the cakes inside lo..

Another thing she gave me.. this christmas cross stitch, which reminded me that is really really being a while that I don't stitch anymore.. haha.. Last time I used to do stitching during the holiday le.. and I wonder, maybe she is hinting me to stitch this christmas cross stitch for her in this xmas.. haha.. =p

and, currently I am so attracted to this SONY CYBER-SHOT DSC-T90, the pink color one.. slim and nice and is touch screen.. hmm.. But, lotsa negative comment I heart about this, so I guess I need to choose another model liaw..any suggestions ?

Exam started...
Stupid eyes mistakenly added another zero behind the number for me..which made me got the wrong number for the calculations.. Maybe time to get a new glasses? hmm..

Tired, really tired, felt like vomiting after the papers.. @.@ Don't think I m doing well in the spectro paper..

Next time hoping that we wont have two papers in a day anymore.. sigh~

Another paper on saturday and now I feel like my holiday is started lo..

Yay.. feeling happy coz I just bought a new collar for my dog.. la la la~

RIPAS visit, DSS and my puppy

Yesterday, there was a visit to RIPAS lab by few of us chem ppl and I saw some bio ppl I supposed. We went to the two labs which are the Hematology lab and the clinical chemistry lab...

I think the labs there are more related on the biology field and are not related to what we are taking in ubd now.. only related would be the instruments and those expensive, huge equipments there, where we currently learn all these in ubd under analytical chemistry.. haha

About the lab, Hematology is more on the composition in one's blood which includes plasma, platelet, heamoglobin, rbc (red blood cells), wbc (white blood cells) and bla bla bla.. For me, honestly, my knowledge and the understanding on biology only reach form 5 level, so, is a bit hard for me to absorb and understand some.. haha

Whereas for the clinical chemistry, this lab, overall, with the word chemistry in it, makes me feel like I am at least in the same world with them.. haha.. However, the method of analysis done looks like ermm... related to chemistry where instruments and chemicals are needed for the analysis of blood and urine samples. When comes to the analysis of the results, results made are related to biology like determining one's glucose level.. comparing this lab with the other one, this one of coz is more preferrable if we chem ppl have the chance to stand our feet there.. haha

Didn't take much pictures when we were inside the lab.. coz I was paiseh.. and worried that I might be the only one get kicked out by the ppl there.. =p

So, here are the signboards of the lab proving that we really went there.. haha

....and today, before our practical ends, five of us who've made the application for 2 months attachment in the dss lab previously, got our replied !! haha... Mr hi and jc are appointed to the narcotics lab whereas jihah and I to the Food safetly analysis lab and and.... Mr chai is going to the forensic lab.. Ho ho.. sounds good and I think all of us are satisfied with the place that we are going.. haha.. except... mr chai..(I think...) who ever said that he loves challenge and now he really got the challenge, that is going to the forensic lab.. haha.. He looked worried and at the same time.. hmmm.. happy? or mixed feeling? coz he kept laughing when jihah told him the news.. Then only, jc and I realised that the forensic lab officer who never said or asked us any questions during the interview, actually got a little bit look like chai.. haha.. then we just simply made this conclusion that no wonder he would choose chai.. since both of them already have the similarity at the first place. lol.. wish him and all of us luck ! =D

...and today we finally got the complete set of paper regarding on the project title that we gona choose for our final year project. huuu.. more works are coming up.. *stress* x*.*x I better hope I could get the topic which I like and hope I can do the very best with it . =)

In the end of this post... I would like to share this with everyone.. hahahah

Interviewed

I am back !! haha..

First time of us, few of us chemistry ppl out for sushi in excapade serusop after our interview for our 2 months attachment in dss, for celebration I think.. haha.. Full name of dss is Department of Scientific science I guess.. Not really sure what is the full name. .haha. coz everyone around me has been saying dss dss dss.. and I didn't really bother to ask what is the exact full name of this place.. haha

At first, before heading to the interview, all of us was having a thought that maybe only 3 of us would get selected. However, we should consider ourselves lucky as the ppl there decided to take all of us..

About the interview and what we need to do during our attachment period, each of us will be given a project and we have to try our very very best to complete the project within the 2 months. And questions like what is your hobbies, are you a patience person, which lab are you all interested in were the questions they asked.... oh.. I think I've forgotten to mention about this.. The five ppl includes me, wajihah, ah chai, jc and mr hi went to the interview and five of us were interviewed together in a meeting room. Haha..

Only 3 labs, food analysis, narcotic and forensic are avalibale for us and willing to take us since the other 7 labs are not totally related to chemistry. Therefore, one of the officer there asked us which lab each of us is interested and preferred to be in.. So, wajihah and me chose Food analysis lab coz both of us are food lover and more interested to do analysis on food.. and who knows in the end they told us they will definitely put us in lab which we didn't choose at the first place. =.=" and one of the officer who sat beside me during the interview, giving me this facial expression: "Hiak hiak hiak..... I gona make these ppl suffer soonn..." omg @.@

But, overall, all of us was happy and excited (I guess) after the interview. So, we went to excapde for lunch..

A season to be jolly...
Christmas song everywhere, christmas decor everywhere...
Bit disappointed coz this year we don't see any xmas decoration in nbt.. haha
coz normally that is the place where for the bored ppl like me can at least hang out during xmas eve

However, still I had a very nice xmas dinner with my boss, especially the exchange gifts session and also xmas eve dinner last night with chong, lina and kelly...
We really had fun and ah chong.. *hint hint* I can't wait to see the "demanding" pics we took last night ! =p

Then after dinner, our desserts... we ate the buy one free one cakes bought by ah chong and lina from rizqun cafe.. yes, they are buy one free one, but i tell you.. the cakes are super duper nice ! lol

and the buy one free one session normally starts at 9 pm and there will be lotsa ppl queuing up for the cakes le..

Really rich choco cake, worth it ! only B$ 2.50 I think

Huuu.. Joined this Walk-a-hunt by BSM
Two per team and our team number was 410..
Since our team number was 410, so meaning that there were more than 400 ++ ppl joining the hunt ! woo.. so challenging

A tiring day it was.. Back with back pain, legs pain, headache, sun burnt face, dry throat....
We had to reach the Taman Sir Omar Ali Saifuddien mosque earlyyyy in the morning, by 630 am for the registration and breakfast and also waiting for the guest of honours

For this hunt, we have to walk around bandar area with our feet for the answers..
Though Bandar area is quite small, is really a tiring job still if you have run up down left right for the answers.. Somemore we have to think and relate those questions given to the sign boards of a shop.. and most of the questions are really really hard !

Good experience I got and I have to thanks my team partner, my good friend for teaming up with me, even though I know he is quite busy.. Businessman wa.. haha.. Tq ah kiat =p

Hooorayyy.. end of exam and finally the arrival of my special reward..
He is so so so cute and adorable.. so playful and yet so naughty at times.. haha..

ohh.. I really can't wait till the last day of my exam...
I still have one more paper to go.. @.@
To me that will be the hardest paper i think.. coz I never read the notes before and never focused during the lectures.. too late to regret.. and I hate symmetries.. haha.. which i think for that you really need to have a good imagination.. you need to imagine how the molecules or complexes turned and twisted in your head and so from that you can know how many IR bands for that particular molecule..

and also, I can't wait to go shopping...
Not I never go shopping during the exam period.. haha.. Just that shopping at this time is not making me feel relaxing at all..

I can't wait to watch all the dramas and series.. I can't wait to just sit at home doing nothing, I can't wait to bake, I can't wait to sleep all day, I can't wait to go jogging, I can't wait to go hiking, I can't wait to clean my room and messy table.... many many things I can't wait to do le..

First:

I think my dog is feeling better now.. Why? because he was sick last few days (4 days) and refused to eat anything at all.. I thought he was poisoned by some bad ppl.. and I really worried, so I went to the vet in qlap and the vet told me he is having fewer and that is why he loss his appetite.. and was given some medicines for him.. My first experience of feeding dog medicine.. It was really a tough job coz I have to chase him all around the house forcing him to eat.. lucky he is kind and didn't give me a bite.. haha

Finally FINalLy.. after joining postcrossing for a month plus.. Finally I've received the postcardssss.. lotss.. from other part of the world.. from Spain, Finland, Canada, USA, Braga, Austria, Poland and Belazus.. haha

Funny thing happened tonight...

To an advance halloween party in my friend house..and also at the same time he's celebrating his baby a month old

It was too rush and I didn't have time to get his baby any gift.. So my friend and I just went there empty-handed.. haha.

Then while busy eating the bbq food and stuffs with my mouth fully stuffed.. The host there then annouced for the "Best dressed" ppl of the night.. Surprisingly and amazingly, I was one of them! haha.. And I was given a gift wrapped nicely with a red ribbon on it..

Around 10 sth, my friend and I decided to leave and was about to tell the owner that we were going to leave soon.. Then the owner of the house was so excited and felt sorry that he hasn't showed us his new born baby.. So, we were brought to his baby room and I went there happily with the gift I got just now..

Then when I just stepped into the baby's room.. The owner of the house was then so happy and excited seeing that I got a gift on my hand.. So, he thought I've brought sth for the baby.. haha

and this was what he said:

"Bb, hui ing jie jie brought you a gift o..."

At first I thought he was just joking coz I thought he knew that the gift on my hand was given by him as the one of the best dress ppl.. haha.. and what I could do was just stood there quiety... While he just took the gift from my hand and passed it to his baby, swinging the gift front of baby saying: "baby like it like it...?"

I wanted to tell him that that's not for the baby but I just can't say it out coz I worried that might dissapoint him or the baby.. haha..

So, now the gift is then recycled back to the baby.. and I still wonder what is under the wrapping paper and I wonder what would the owner think when he unwrap the gift and realise that the gift looks familiar.. lol.. It must be funny !

Went raya in some of my dearest coursemates home..

This holiday, due to the coming of raya, some influences from the local malays when I saw them busying shopping everyday, I also want raya raya ! lol.. So, I can't wait to make this tapak kuda. The recipe was found somewhere in my house.

I got the recipe from nazmi long long time ago.. Couldn't wait to make this tapak kuda and I miss the taste of the tapak kuda we tried last time around cny in kiat's house also so I decided to rush out late night to the shopping mall just to get all the needed ingredients.. Wuhoo ~

Here are the pictures:

The ingredients are 10 eggs, hk flour, a tablespoon of milk powder, ovalet, butter, chocolate emulco, baking powder, vanilla essence and also the yummiest nutella =)

Beat the egg white, egg yolks and also the sugar till bubbly

Then the ovalet, hk flour, milk powder, butter, vanilla essence, baking powder were mixed until creamy
Then the creamy batter was divided into two portions. A portion for the chocolate layer where a tablespoon of chocolate emulco was added in. Another portion (creamy layer) was left untouched.

Bake the chocolate layer in the oven at 170 degree celsius for 15 minutes on a baking tray preferably with an aluminium foil on it. Then pour the creamy layer on top and bake for another 15 minutes. Cool the cake to room temperature. Then cut the cake into half and spread nutella (as much as possible) on top of the cake. Then fold the cake.

On the 3rd day of raya, coz of the shanghai tour, and I made a visit to the palace.

So so so many ppl ~ @.@

Group of shanghai ppl and they are mostly shanghai sch lecturers, teachers and also principles.
Before this tour, I was stressed coz I worried that what I know about Brunei was not enough as I think they are for sure knowledgeble and educated ppl.. They even call me xiao mei mei when they saw me =.="

After all, after this tour, it was all good and I hope they are all happy, satisfied, enjoyed and well-entertained.

However, still, I met a really stubborn and proud attitude person which makes me really go gaga.. He kept insulting and critisizing me in front of so many ppl and yet I could just smiled to him acting he was all right and I could not say anything even if he makes mistake.. He even shouted at me in front of many ppl. Coz this person only believes on what he thinks and when mistakes were made, we could never hear an apology from him, even to the customers. gaga~

Really really tired today. Some day, I really wish that I am a creature which do not need any sleeping time.. haha.. So that I could have more and more and more time doing things which are not completed. I know i know, this is just a stupiw dream I got and I wish in future the brilliant scientists around the world could invent sth which could just plug on us human beings and recharge us human beings like how a mobile phone is recharged when our battery is gone flat and of coz the electric must not sot us la.. lol

Just chat with a friend, and realise that we actually have a test on this coming wednesday.. and obviously, I din know about it coz I escaped the last lecture before this sem break.. arghhh.. *blame myself* really want to shout and kick myself now..

Stupid thing I do today.. =.="

Was wearing slippers before I reached work.. Then, after changing to my uniform, next, I need to change my aunty slippers..

After wearing my shoes, the blur and silly me forgot to put my bright, yellow slippers back into the car and instead I just left it outside my car without noticing it until I back from work, getting ready to go home.. Omg.. When I was about to take my key out from my pocket, I saw my slippers were outside the car, lying comfortably on the road for more than 4 hours and funny thing - the slippers still lying there nicely as if no one ever touched it before and no dogs passing by, it was still there !! hahaha.. my friend who tumpang my car was laughing so loud when she saw my slippers lying there nicely..

Maybe the slippers are just too smelly and that's why even dogs wouldn't want to have a look at it.. and I wondered what the person who parked beside me think when he or she saw the pair of slipper when he or she got down from his or her car.. hahaha.. wuhoo.. lucky me !

Went to the airport on friday to send our Physical chem lecturer off to Australia. Here I wish him all the best in his future and his baby girl is really cute..

Finally got to try the Pan-mee in Cafe d paris which was highly recommended by ah-Kiat. He told me the pan-mee there is one of the best in Berunai. I really like it especially with the small intestines, lungs and tummy of the pig.. Wuhooo ~ I know it would sound gali with those internal organs.. haha. But it is really reallyyyyyy nice !

Feel super happy reaching home after work everyday which means I can continue my "business" and that is -- Tada~ to watch the dramas that are all under the waiting list in my pc.. ahaha

my old pc was brought back with a hdd gone.. and this made me lost all my reports which I done with all my sweat and tears.. and also all those memorable photos taken which can't buy with money le.. Grr..

And this reminded me that I have an undone report missing me so much at the moment and yelling at me to finish it as soon as possible so I can have a relaxing weekend this week..

Fireworks and reunion

July 26,
Went to my friend's house warming.. New house, big house, modern design, cute puppy, not so bad food.. loves the cheese cake, loves the black-pepper lamb...

After that, went to town for the fireworks and also the floats..
Amazingly, the policemen on duty that day allowed us to drive into town and no one stop us ! So, I could see some ppl with weird facial expressions looking at us when we drove towards the parking near the taman.. Luckily we still managed to watch the last fireworks of the night..
Heard there will be fireworks on aug 2 in empire o.. Hehe.. Anyone interested?

17 July, A visit to the Semaun Marine Resources Sdn Bhd in Tutong to see the Mexico blue shrimp with a group of Singapore secondary students from Westwood Secondary school. The Marine centre is just right after the Tutong beach, just drive straight till the end.

Was told this blue shrimp is their new species which has a scientific name called Litopenaeus Stylirostris and locally called Udang Rostris, originated in South America. A bit different from the normal shrimps as it has large size (15 - 20 g), fast growth (120 days), high survival rate, strong resistance to diseases and many more. And.. this kind of shrimps are ideal for sashimi, sushi ebi, nobashi ebi, ebi ten, butterfly shrimp and many more.

Was told we can see sperm for the male just below their body, but I still couldn't see any when the guy showed us

NBT XII Treasure Hunt

Today, woke up super early (4 am) in the morning getting ready for the NBT XII Treasure Hunt, coz we need to meet in ICC at 5 am. Luckily, our team alarm clock (Miss shy) woke us all up.

This year theme was about safari, so just like what the marshals said, we all just need to think "wild".. So, we tried our best to think WILD.... Our team, Mr. Kevin (The driver), Miss shy (The navigator), Miss Eve and me (slept behind.. haha). Everyone of us did try to think and answer the quiz given le..

I was just aiming at the special decorated car behind =p

About the challenge, we got 6 challenges altogether. I don't think I can remember them all. First one was about creativity which we stopped at Taman Peranginan Tasek, and we need to get sth from Tasek and pose for picture. Then another one, need to shoot the kangaroo using a hook which was quite hard to aim (I think).

Another one, which was about environ-mentality, that we were asked to collect rubbish in Tungku Beach. I like this though our hands then became super smelly.

After that, we drove around looking at sign boards for answering the quiz part. I think this was quite tricky, but fun!

I rmb got one questions. It was sth like this: "Turn the word upside down and turn around. Then you will find that this is UNAGI"..

and tada ~ the answer was "simpang 337".. haha

There were another two challenges which we were asked to climb hill, then we were asked to recognise and count animals in each challenge. Omg, it was so tiring! *sweat sweat*

Watching some of the Cartoon Network's cartoons again and I really miss most of them, especially their intro songs. When listening to the intro songs, they all bring back my childhood memories. And I spent most of my childhood time, waiting and sitting in front of the tv just to watch the cartoons. Sometimes, fighting even happened between us brother and sister and I could remember how mad my mum was and the way she's holding the rotan.. haha

One cartoon which I like most is Little Lulu.. which would be showing at 5 pm every weekend..

Another one, "Scooby doo, Where are you".. Watched it over and over again and never feel bored.

Season hi-tea

Went hi-tea in season this afternoon.
Bnd 15 per person..
Worth the money as many choices of food..
The hi-tea starts at 2 pm to 5:30 pm everyday.
Was told would be more expensive (Bnd 20) during the weekends,
but more food will be served.

For dessert, they also have abc, bread pudding, donut, mango pudding (yum~)...

That's all I can remember.. haha

but too bad they didn't have their popular fruit tart this time.

Feeling bad

I've found a job and I lost the job..
Found the job through my friend..
Went to an interview yesterday and was told that the job involves going to the bank and meeting some government ppl. Sound quite interesting and I could learn quite a lot and get a chance to know the ppl who work in the government and bank. But in the end, I withdrew, I quit. Feeling bad now..

Tried making Tofu fah yesterday, but failed !
Wondering where I gone wrong coz I follow all the steps wisely. Or maybe coz of the starch I used. Hmm.. What is the difference between corn starch and starch? Aren't they the same?
I gona try again later on if I get the ingredients..

Yesterday got a tour. First time ever, I got only one tourist. He's a Taiwan guy. I was the driver and drove him around in Brunei. He is a photographer. And first time ever, I went up to Rizqun's 7th floor and realized the balcony there has a very good view and good sight of "half" gdg. It is also a nice place for tea where you can enjoy, relieve stress, stars sighting.. Ah, and also a good place to pakto.. haha.. Quiet and romantic oh.....

One of the waiter there told us that they will have a daytime dim sum buffet on June 29 for the celebration of the "not sure" event.
So, I think eating dimsum daytime would be a lot better and healthier.
Ah, coincidently I met ck and bunute gang there as well.

Had a memorable day in Berakas beach, with nice food, nice ppl, nice scenery and cool weather..

For the bbq food
we had chicken wings, chicken drumsticks, crabstick, fish and cuttlefish balls, lamb chop, marshmallow, chicken ass..
and also the big and fat chicken and corn sausage (from the pic) bought by Dr. Linda..
Supasave own made sausage.
The sausage was not cheap also.
Saw on the packet, only 5 parts (equal 5 pieces) and it costs bnd 10.94 from Supasave.
Most of us there were too sakai and didn't really know how to bbq the big sausage..lol
First, we thought we had to remove the transparent thingy
but we were wrong !
Ermm..
when trying the sausage,
I think it was not really nice.. haha
The meat texture, I think it is too hard and
the meat not totally minced..

and I've learned another thing from my malay friend,
the malay way of brushing honey onto the chicken wings by using lemongrass instead of using a brush..
According to geok, using this method,
there's no need for us to wash the brush which is hard to clean,
is also environmental friendly
and according to my malay friends,
using lemongrass which is a kind of spice helps making the chicken wings taste nicer

Ohya, another thing. After the tour, I went to centrepoint with a friend and met chonggie outside qq station. So, we had a short chit-chatting then in a sudden there's an unknown lady approached us. At first she asked us whether we know any place got hotel room, with a worried and innocent face. I was shocked because the first thought on my brain was -- she is a cheater ! haha...

Then she told us she is from Hongkong and because of some visa problem, her son is alone in Labuan. She's quite worried. And, she got a problem as her husband and her don't know how to speak English. They only know some simple malay as they were born in Indo..

So, at first chong and I brought her to centrepoint hotel. But afterwards, chong left coz she got something to do. So, my friend and I brought the couple to Grand city hotel as centrepoint was too expensive for them.

In grandcity hotel, they told us they want to go to the palace and jp at night. My friend and I actually wanted to volunteer ourselves to be their guide so that we could get paid, but we didn't. HAHA..

In the end, we did bring them to the place they want to go at night as a friend, with a little hope in our heart that they would give us some ang pow or what for helping them.. HAHA.. because from what they've told us, we feel that they are rich ppl as they kept telling us they ever been to Las vegas, china, taiwan and bla bla bla.. haha..

After all, we did not get anything but just a supper in one of the satay stall beside SoonLee.. lol..

But still, I feel the happiness of helping ppl though this time with little "intention" in heart. haha.. and I get to know new friends who know a lot and I've learned a lot from the experiences they told me. I'm not sure what they told us are true or just craps and I did feel weird why of all the ppl on the streets, they chose me and chong. Hmm.. Maybe they overheard what I've told chong about the tour guide thingy? Or maybe they saw me wearing the guide's uniform?

But ppl living in different world, in big cities are really very very different....

Finally met my close and best friend during high school today, after two years..

Really really miss her. Really really miss the time when we were in chms.. The time we went to canteen had lunch together, the time we cheated on mib test, the time we were sleeping in class, the time we went tuition together.....

Today, we went to chms and do realize that there are so many improvement and changes there..
Last time, we did not have a lecture hall occupied with projector and now they do have one..

Tofu pudding with longan

Made cool tofu dessert with Longan last few days.. Not very hard and doesn't require long time to prepare..

The ingredients
2 Japanese egg beancurds,
2 tbsp agar-agar powder,
160 g caster sugar,
2 canned longan in syrup,
1000 mL water
(White tofu can be used also but Japanese egg beancurd is preferred)

Ah.. went to tamu with my mum the other day and I heard from the ah-sam chit chatting saying that the price of tofu is getting expensive o..
They said last time, the tofu cost bnd 0.50 and NOW bnd 0.60 !!
not much but still.....
with 10 cents, we still can buy candy le ~ HAHA

Next,

Pound the beancurd with 500 mL water in a fruit blender until smooth.
Remove and keep it aside.

Mix the rest of 500 mL of water with sugar, agar-agar powder until well combined in a saucepan.

Cook over a low heat until the sugar is completely dissolves and slightly thicken.

Add in the pounded beancurd to the saucepan and stir well.

Then,

Pour the mixture into a 8 inches square steaming tray.
Try to remove the bubbles if possible.
Leave to cool and chill in fridge.

Remove, cut the tofu pudding into pieces and serve with Longan syrup.

Add sufficient water if you think the Longan syrup is too sweet.
Chill in fridge for few hours..

Tada ~
Done !!

Just in case,
this is foo-chow way of celebrating birthday..
we need to eat this what they called "long noodle" on one's birthday or some special occasion.
Normally serve with herbal chicken soup
and it tastes real nice !!

Yesterday, I got three nightmares in a row.
First one, I was bitten by a snake in someone house,
Second one, fall down into a deep river behind mok's house,
couldn't really remember the third one but I know it was definitely not a good one. =S

I told Mr. Pan-cake about that..
and he told me that these were good sign meaning that those were actually "good dream"..?

Hmm...

I ever heard someone said dreaming of a snake got the chance of winning 4d..
haha...
but I couldn't link of anything from my dream to numbers...
However, I wish I could so I can win $$$$
wahahaha..

Rice dumplings

Today, dragon boat festival or glutinuous rice dumplings eating day which is a tradition to mark the death of Qu Yuan, who took his own life into a river in China 2,000 years ago.. and also my eldest sis birthday..

Made our own dumplings today, our first time.. haha

My mum said dumplings are expensive nowadays, so she decided to make our own this year.

OGDC tech challenge

Yesterday joined the OGDC tech challenge with eve (captain), shy and chin yo. Our team name was The Alchemist. haha.. or I should say we are The Alchemist 2008.. =p

Two challenges had to be completed.

First one was about making a rocket using a coca cola bottle with an egg given. The egg must not be broken and the marks counted on the furthest the rocket able to launch.

At first we were too nervous and that is why our rocket came out to be a bit "special" compared to others. We were a bit worry at that time as most ppl rocket had a sharp cone shaped thingy in front and ours look really different. haha..

Second challenge was about making a dome using newspaper, ruler and cellotape given.

We need to make a dome which had to be strong enough to support the 3 weights. Lucky, our dome managed to support all the 3 weights.

Lastly, we thought we might not get anything because of our rocket. So, we didn't expect so much as we all had already try our best.. hehe.. But, lucky enough, we managed to get 2nd prize.. So, we got a cash prize of bnd 200. =D

S & t week...

This few days was busy over s & t week. Was volunteering in the chemistry booth as the demonstrator. It was really fun.. and tomorrow will be the last day.

During the s & t week, my partner, geok yi and I were participated in the amazing challenge organised by the cs (computer science) students. At first, geok and I thought cs stands for counter strike..lol. The amazing challenge lasted for two days. Two days with different challenges. It was really really fun.. though really really tired, especially my butts feel super pain when I reach home these two days. Coz we had to run around Fos to get all the clues for the next password, for the new challenge.

The first day, there were four challenges. The challenges were more about practical stuffs and all related to biology, maths, physics, chemistry and engineering. For the biology one, we were asked to find the biological names of the bamboos in the bamboo garden, which makes me realised that there were actually a lot of different kinds of bamboos in ubd.. haha..

The maths one, there was one question given which I think I will never forget in life.. ahaha.. The question looks like this..

"_ is 1,000 times of _ _ "

Just need to fill in the blanks with only one type of alphabet.. Only one type of alphabet for the three blanks.

Geok and I at first thought was "x" but it was wrong ! We almost tried all the 26 alphabets and we begun to lost our patience.. haha.. and shy and eve started to set out new rules saying that if we ask more than 10 times, then we need to solve another question. lol..

In the end, after few trials... the answer is....... "m" =.="

"m is 1,000 times of mm "

HAHA.. which is "metre is 1,000 times of milimeter"...

Next, we got enginerring challenge which we were asked to remove a cork which was stucked inside an empty bottle and another one was to treat a balloon as a remote controller. We need to use the balloon to move the empty drinking can to a certain distance.

Then, we had physics challenge which we need to build a tower using spaghetti sticks and also to make a traditional telephone and communicate with each other. The passage given was a love song's lyrics.. HAHA.. sounded funny when we had to read aloud on the walkway..

The last challenge for the first day was the chemistry challenge which we were asked to release the air of a balloon and it had to reach points marked on the floor. We need to get minimum of 30 points altogether in 10 minutes time..

That day, we managed to get third place for the challenge..

The second day, we had six challenges altogether. Was really really tired, but fun. We had programming, numbering, sorting, hidden, internet and you're dumb challenge.

For me, I think the internet challenge was the hardest one. I think I've spent more than 30 minutes there or more just to arrange the number which they told me was about network. For geok, I think was quite easy for her as she just took less than 10 minutes to finish that..

The second hardest one was the programming challenge which we were asked to draw 14 tables and need to rewrite all the steps and sequences 14 times again.. grr..

The hidden challenge, we realised there is an elevator in chemistry department where only dwarves could go in.. also, there are owls beside the green house in biology department..

We had numbering and sorting challenge in a row where both challenges required the knowledge of binary number system, 1010101.. My brain was all 101010 and #$&%* after the challenges and the image of zinger burger floating in my head while I was doing the sorting challenge.. hungry ~

The last one, you're dumb challenge.. We need to answer three questions. We got first question wrong coz our response was bit too slow. So, we were told "we are dumb ! " by a cartoon man in a computer screen.. haha

Finally, after all the challenges, we got second place.. haha.. we thought we might be the third.. The prize: a mouse and a two gb pendrive..

Haha.. Lucky, I also got a 5 dollars easi card for the quiz..

My cp off to holiday again.. ='(

I don't know how long it is going to have his holiday this time.. Grr.. Without him, my life is so so dull.. Without him, I don't feel happy at all.. As I can't watch all the tvb series left in my house.. and I have to come to this cyber cafe to online which cost 1 dollar for half an hour only..
it is so so expensive !!

Hai.. I really miss my cp.. The computer technician at first told me the problem is the power supply as he smells "cao ta" smell when i just brought my computer there. THen afterwards, he called me and told me he saw a flame on the motherboard when he switched on my computer. So, I was wondering.... Hmmm.. Is he cheating the computer idiot me? I really don't understand. I just change a new board one year ago. And I am a friendly user and m very sayang my cp, I just use it for online and watching movie only..

and he told me my motherboard is amd brand, so is quite hard to find amd motherboard in brunei.... so means that I need to wait for a very long time till they found the new motherboard.... arghh

Start to get soi liaw.. Have to go "pai pai" to get rid of the soi-ness soon..
