A mango pudding milk tea a day = a happy day

Last season

A busy yesterday. Last season for the cruise ship coming into the Abobe of peace until October..
and also till October to meet the lovely and friendly ppl again..

could live around 600-700 ppl if i'm not mistaken.
Not the biggest one yet.
The biggest one in here last time could live around 1500+ ppl.
This one needs around 2000+ euros per person..
only sail in the SEA for 14 days.

Ohya, another thing. After the tour, I went to centrepoint with a friend and met chonggie outside qq station. So, we had a short chit-chatting then in a sudden there's an unknown lady approached us. At first she asked us whether we know any place got hotel room, with a worried and innocent face. I was shocked because the first thought on my brain was -- she is a cheater ! haha...

Then she told us she is from Hongkong and because of some visa problem, her son is alone in Labuan. She's quite worried. And, she got a problem as her husband and her don't know how to speak English. They only know some simple malay as they were born in Indo..

So, at first chong and I brought her to centrepoint hotel. But afterwards, chong left coz she got something to do. So, my friend and I brought the couple to Grand city hotel as centrepoint was too expensive for them.

In grandcity hotel, they told us they want to go to the palace and jp at night. My friend and I actually wanted to volunteer ourselves to be their guide so that we could get paid, but we didn't. HAHA..

In the end, we did bring them to the place they want to go at night as a friend, with a little hope in our heart that they would give us some ang pow or what for helping them.. HAHA.. because from what they've told us, we feel that they are rich ppl as they kept telling us they ever been to Las vegas, china, taiwan and bla bla bla.. haha..

After all, we did not get anything but just a supper in one of the satay stall beside SoonLee.. lol..

But still, I feel the happiness of helping ppl though this time with little "intention" in heart. haha.. and I get to know new friends who know a lot and I've learned a lot from the experiences they told me. I'm not sure what they told us are true or just craps and I did feel weird why of all the ppl on the streets, they chose me and chong. Hmm.. Maybe they overheard what I've told chong about the tour guide thingy? Or maybe they saw me wearing the guide's uniform?

But ppl living in different world, in big cities are really very very different....

Mushroom is back !

Finally met my close and best friend during high school today, after two years..

Really really miss her. Really really miss the time when we were in chms.. The time we went to canteen had lunch together, the time we cheated on mib test, the time we were sleeping in class, the time we went tuition together.....

Today, we went to chms and do realize that there are so many improvement and changes there..
Last time, we did not have a lecture hall occupied with projector and now they do have one..

Tofu pudding with longan

Made cool tofu dessert with Longan last few days.. Not very hard and doesn't require long time to prepare..

The ingredients
2 Japanese egg beancurds,
2 tbsp agar-agar powder,
160 g caster sugar,
2 canned longan in syrup,
1000 mL water
(White tofu can be used also but Japanese egg beancurd is preferred)

Ah.. went to tamu with my mum the other day and I heard from the ah-sam chit chatting saying that the price of tofu is getting expensive o..
They said last time, the tofu cost bnd 0.50 and NOW bnd 0.60 !!
not much but still.....
with 10 cents, we still can buy candy le ~ HAHA

Next,





Pound the beancurd with 500 mL water in a fruit blender until smooth.
Remove and keep it aside.

Mix the rest of 500 mL of water with sugar, agar-agar powder until well combined in a saucepan.

Cook over a low heat until the sugar is completely dissolves and slightly thicken.

Add in the pounded beancurd to the saucepan and stir well.

Then,



Pour the mixture into a 8 inches square steaming tray.
Try to remove the bubbles if possible.
Leave to cool and chill in fridge.



Remove, cut the tofu pudding into pieces and serve with Longan syrup.



Add sufficient water if you think the Longan syrup is too sweet.
Chill in fridge for few hours..

Just in case,
this is foo-chow way of celebrating birthday..
we need to eat this what they called "long noodle" on one's birthday or some special occasion.
Normally serve with herbal chicken soup
and it tastes real nice !!

Yesterday, I got three nightmares in a row.
First one, I was bitten by a snake in someone house,
Second one, fall down into a deep river behind mok's house,
couldn't really remember the third one but I know it was definitely not a good one. =S

I told Mr. Pan-cake about that..
and he told me that these were good sign meaning that those were actually "good dream"..?

Hmm...

I ever heard someone said dreaming of a snake got the chance of winning 4d..
haha...
but I couldn't link of anything from my dream to numbers...
However, I wish I could so I can win $$$$
wahahaha..

Rice dumplings

Today, dragon boat festival or glutinuous rice dumplings eating day which is a tradition to mark the death of Qu Yuan, who took his own life into a river in China 2,000 years ago.. and also my eldest sis birthday..

Made our own dumplings today, our first time.. haha

My mum said dumplings are expensive nowadays, so she decided to make our own this year.

I've tried already. I think is not bad and it tastes real good. Not so salty, not so much msg added which will make my throat feel dry and I love eating the black eye bean in it. But, too bad I can't eat so much ba-chan due to my laoya digestive system =(

OGDC tech challenge

Yesterday joined the OGDC tech challenge with eve (captain), shy and chin yo. Our team name was The Alchemist. haha.. or I should say we are The Alchemist 2008.. =p

Two challenges had to be completed.

First one was about making a rocket using a coca cola bottle with an egg given. The egg must not be broken and the marks counted on the furthest the rocket able to launch.

At first we were too nervous and that is why our rocket came out to be a bit "special" compared to others. We were a bit worry at that time as most ppl rocket had a sharp cone shaped thingy in front and ours look really different. haha..

Second challenge was about making a dome using newspaper, ruler and cellotape given.

We need to make a dome which had to be strong enough to support the 3 weights. Lucky, our dome managed to support all the 3 weights.

Lastly, we thought we might not get anything because of our rocket. So, we didn't expect so much as we all had already try our best.. hehe.. But, lucky enough, we managed to get 2nd prize.. So, we got a cash prize of bnd 200. =D
